On the 8th Day of Christmas, my truelove gave to me Eight Maids a Milking.
I have never milked a cow. This decision is based on fear, as much as it is my lack of proximity to dairy cows. I’m not afraid of a cow, per se. But, am more terrified of it’s reaction should I “do it wrong.” The manipulation of a 1400 pound animal’s teat, is a delicate maneuver, to say the least.
A solid 20 plus years have passed, since I last nursed a child. And, let me tell you, even after 2 decades, I remember that it can be done wrong.
Furthermore, cows are big and when upset, they kick hard. Very much in the manner of a starving, screaming, 10lb new born baby! Leading us full circle and back to the fact, that I have never milked a cow.
Even though The Minefield’s bovine numbers are lacking, we hope you will enjoy Day 8! Mooooory Christmas!
