Yesterday . . .

Yesterday, it was absolutely beautiful outside!

I try to take advantage of this balmy spring weather because once the oppressive heat and humidity set in, I’m done till November. Summer time here, in my little world, can most definitely be compared with living on the Hell Mouth (for all you Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans).

So, I started digging around in my yard.  I decided it was finally time to yank out the dead Vinca’s from the planters and start weeding the garden.  Still don’t have much to show for my efforts, except for this.

x

I was hoping to use it as a decorative deterrent to keep the birds and critters from eating my garden, once it finally gets planted.  This being one of them aforementioned critters. Caught ya!

x

I think I’m going to have to use something else.  Even though this thing has been spinning like a glittery pink dervish, my patio is still the bird equivalent to LAX.   And, I hate to admit it, but the critters appear to be more intrigued than frightened by my giant “Ode to Paris Hilton” flower.

x

Managed to snap this picture, gently set camera down and save “Ode to Paris Hilton” from a chewy, torn, mangled, pounced upon death.  The pointy ears gave Kitty’s diabolical plan away!

x

Sulking, Kitty settled down for yet another nap. settled down for yet another nap.

x

His eyes began to get sleepy.

x

I no more finished thinking that he was going to peacefully settle down, and Momma Cardinal flew into the yard.

x

And we were off again!

x

He missed Momma by a mile, but somewhere under that right paw is a tiny little miller moth.  Nothing like a tasty snack after a hard day’s work.  Mmmmm good!
